James Bradwell

I have been a resident of Gadsden County since 1979 when my parents decided to move from our previous location of Long Island New York to be closer to family. I attended the Gadsden County Public School system from the ninth grade and graduating in the twelfth grade. Upon graduation, I worked at a local distribution center before deciding to go back to school.

I attended Lively Technical taking the computer programming class, once I finished that program I went to Tallahassee Community College majoring in Computer Information Systems. Enjoying being educated in the technology field I continued my education and received my Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems at Florida A&M University.
I obtain work as a computer systems analyst with the State of Florida where I worked for about ten years before leaving and taking a job in the private sector as a computer application developer. It was during this time that my passion for cooking (barbecuing specifically) became apparent. After entering and winning several local barbecue competitions, I decided to open a barbecue business. Therefore, I went to culinary school to learn the business side of running a restaurant.

I leased a small-established barbecue take out restaurant for a year. After analyzing my profit/loss margin I decided to close down the brick and mortar a get a mobile food vehicle (at the time, they were becoming popular and not too many people had them.

I graduated Keiser University with my Associated Science in Culinary Arts. I worked at Capital Regional Medical Center in the Kitchen for several years. Until I came across a job with the Gadsden County Schools system, where I have been working as the culinary arts instructor for the last six year.

I love working with children to try to pass along a skill that will last a lifetime. I also know that some of the children of Gadsden County are suffering economically, physically, and emotionally. If I can assist CCYS in helping the children of the Big Bend area combat some of these disparities it would an honor.

I am married to Natalie DuPont-Bradwell, we have a total of 5 children between us 3 adult children and 2 teenage children.
