We accept a limited number of interns and practicum students from several different disciplines including Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Art Therapy, Criminal Justice/Criminology, Music Therapy and more! We offer internship and practicum experiences for both graduate and undergraduate students. We accept students from FAMU, FSU, USF, UWF and other various institutions. Internship positions are available in Some Place Else Shelter, Family Place Counseling, Going Places Street Outreach, and the SNAP program. Interns are accepted in both Fall and Spring semesters with limited Summer semester opportunities.
Communications, Public Administration, Social Leadership, Human Resources and additional internships are available in other departments.
The internship application is listed below. FALL applications will be accepted between May 1st – June 1st. SPRING applications will be accepted between October 1st – November 1st. SUMMER applications will be accepted between February 1st – March 1st. All three documents must be completed including supporting documents (resume, transcripts, and driving record). Students will receive intensive orientation and training as well as ongoing supervision, client contact, and ongoing clinical training. Full & part-time internship positions vary each semester. CCYS offers a highly competitive and limited internship opportunity to students. Internship positions are filled on a first come, first serve basis and may close before the deadline.
